Blood pressure readings from 80 to 200 systolic

Every reading has its own report. Type yours in, or start with the upper (systolic) number.

The index below lists the common range, systolic 80–200. The checker also explains less common readings: systolic 60–260 and diastolic 30–160 mmHg.

Choose your systolic (upper) number

Colour = category of the systolic number alone; the diastolic number can move a reading into a higher category.

How the US categories work

Each number is rated on its own scale — systolic: normal below 120, elevated 120–129, stage 1 130–139, stage 2 from 140; diastolic: normal below 80, stage 1 80–89, stage 2 from 90. Your reading takes the higher of the two categories. Every reading report shows both scales side by side, so you can see which number to work on. Readings with a systolic number below 90 or a diastolic number below 60 (and no raised number) are marked as low — a common label, not an AHA/ACC category. These categories come from the 2025 AHA/ACC guideline, which kept the 2017 categories unchanged.
